The time of night around 2-3AM is my favorite time of the day. There is something cosmic that happens to the brain at that time. Maybe it has something to do with being an artist. Maybe we're more sensitive to the shift. I have a bunch of artist friends who say they experience the same thing early in the morning: the world quiets down, and there is a mental static that fades from the mind when everyone for miles around you is sleeping. If Portland likes you, it will let you know. It will take you in with open arms, and you will be all you ever wanted to be.
On the other hand, if Portland doesn't like you, it'll let you know.

As a new Lyft driver, my first few rides were pretty awkward. Driving with strangers in the car took some getting used to. Throw in the fact that some people are awkward in general, and throw in the fact that I forgot to turn on the radio those first few rides, and yeah, those first rides were kind of awkward.
